Stefon Diggs Dealt to Buffalo Bills for Multiple Picks, Including 2020 First Rounder

After weeks of speculation, the Minnesota Vikings have traded star receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills.

The disgruntled wideout, who notably skipped practices after last season’s Week 4 loss at Chicago, was reportedly dealt for a first-round pick, fifth-round pick, sixth-round pick and a future fourth, giving the Vikings a 12-pick haul in this April’s draft and picks 22 and 25 in the first round.

Diggs stirred the pot on social media this offseason with cryptic tweets and Instagram posts while league insiders projected him to be unhappy with the Vikings. The former fifth-round pick was ostensibly discontent with the Vikings’ run-first offense, showing his displeasure repeatedly on the sidelines in 2019 despite recording over 1,000 yards as Kirk Cousins’ favorite target. His new quarterback, Josh Allen, has appreciably less arm talent.

The Vikings are left with a relatively empty cupboard at receiver. Adam Thielen, coming off an injury-prone 2019, is the clear No. 1. With a deep draft full of receivers available next month, the Vikings can look to replace Diggs with a cheaper option while opening up roughly $5 million in cap space to fill potential holes in the secondary.
